The Expanse: Osiris Reborn David Gaider is collaborating on its narrative

The writer is working with Owlcat alongside his role at Summerfall

David Gaider confirmed on November 6 that he is collaborating with Owlcat Games on The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. He is focusing on certain aspects of the game’s narrative alongside his work at Summerfall. Gaider said The Expanse has long been one of his favourite series, so he welcomed the opportunity to take part.

Gaider’s previous credits include Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn, Neverwinter Nights and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. On Dragon Age, he worked as a world designer and lead writer. He is now Creative Director and a co-founder of Summerfall Studios, the developer of Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical.

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is a third-person science-fiction action RPG. Its protagonist is a Pinkwater Security mercenary whose short leave on the asteroid Eros ends in a deadly lockdown. The character becomes caught in a conspiracy spanning the solar system before taking command of a ship and assembling a crew.

Players can choose an Earther, Martian or Belter captain. Dialogue choices and leadership decisions affect relationships with companions. Two crew members join the protagonist in cover-based combat and can receive orders in real time. Others provide remote support by disabling systems or distracting enemies. The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
