Mason Thames will voice Dick Grayson, also known as Robin, in Dynamic Duo. DC Studios co-head Peter Safran confirmed the casting of the actor who plays Hiccup in the live-action How to Train Your Dragon.
According to Safran, Thames actively pursued the part and delivered an excellent audition. The producer recalled the actor visiting DC’s offices with his father and wanting photographs with numerous items from the studio’s archives.
Dynamic Duo follows Dick Grayson and Jason Todd in their early years as the two friends pursue their dreams and navigate differing visions of the future. Matt Reeves’ company 6th & Idaho is producing the film. Director Arthur Mintz and Swaybox Studios are combining puppets filmed with real cameras and computer animation. Safran says shooting with physical cameras brings a visceral quality to the action. Matthew Aldrich wrote the screenplay, and the theatrical release is scheduled for September 22, 2028.
