Netflix announced a test of AI Discover on November 3, adding a new tab to its TV app. Access is starting with a small group of US members who use Netflix in English on supported televisions. More members will gain access over the coming weeks.
Viewers begin with a theme suited to their mood, company or available time, such as light entertainment, a family movie night or short watches. Each theme is previewed with a clip from a film or series. Themes can also reflect recent viewing, new releases or popular titles. Netflix offers matching films and series, followed by narrower themes. Something Different brings up a fresh selection.
A Tune Your Recommendations button sits alongside Play and My List. It lets viewers keep a recommendation or ask not to see a particular title suggested again. AI Discover remembers that choice within the tab.
