Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on January 19, 2027, with six new episodes. The streaming service has also released a new teaser for Mizu’s continuing revenge story, offering a look at the next stage of her journey beyond Japan.
The search takes Mizu to London in 1657. Creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green say she will have to navigate the city’s criminal underworld and the restrictions of its puritanical society. For the first time, she faces the experience of standing out as Asian in a predominantly white environment. The team spent three years bringing the continuation to life, researching both 17th-century London and Edo-period Japan for its animated settings.
Maya Erskine returns as Mizu, alongside Brenda Song as Akemi, Darren Barnet as Taigen and Masi Oka as Ringo. The new cast includes Jonathan Pryce as Old Violet, Joel Kim Booster as Priest Ando and Sherry Cola as Kuma. Blue Spirit is the animation studio, while Jane Wu continues as supervising director and producer. Mizu’s story is scheduled to conclude in 2028.
