Jason Blum and James Wan unveiled Blumhouse Atomic on November 3 as the new name of their combined company. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster merged in January 2024. Both studios will remain distinct production labels, with their own creative teams developing and producing films and television projects.
Blum described the name as a natural progression of their work together, highlighting horror franchises including The Conjuring, Insidious and Saw that have come under one roof. Wan stressed finding new voices and supporting them over the long term. The filmmakers working with the company include Obsession director Curry Barker and Backrooms director Kane Parsons.
Since the merger, the company has produced M3GAN 2.0, Night Swim, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy and Other Mommy. Its upcoming projects include Mike Flanagan’s new take on The Exorcist, Barker’s Anything But Ghosts, and new Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch films.
