Meta has announced the end of new feature development for Quest 2 and Quest Pro. Horizon OS 2.13 will be the final operating-system release for the headsets and will reach all devices by March 2027. New OS and platform features in later releases will be available on Quest 3, Quest 3S and newer models.
Quarterly security patches and critical bug fixes will continue through the end of 2027. Meta will also accept new app submissions supporting Quest 2 and Quest Pro through December 2027. Developers can continue publishing updates for their existing apps.
The Store will stay open on Quest 2 and Quest Pro. Owners will keep access to purchased games and can continue finding, buying and downloading apps. Meta will maintain cross-play with Quest 3 and Quest 3S at the platform level. PC VR through Link will also remain available.
