Rosamund Pike will star in and produce Feed, a body horror directed by The Acolyte creator Leslye Headland. Daniella Isaacs wrote the script, taking inspiration from the 2022 Finnish horror film Hatching. Sales for the project are set to begin at the American Film Market in Los Angeles, which runs November 10–15.
Pike plays Erin, the mother of a young gymnast. She discovers an obscure collagen supplement that promises to turn her daughter into a star influencer. The fame and success they want arrive quickly, but as the girl goes viral, she begins a monstrous transformation.
Pike says the film explores an obsession with social media and self-improvement, alongside the desire for fame. Erin believes that dominating the digital world will protect her daughter from its dangers. Pike is producing through her Primitive Streak company, while ZQ Entertainment financed the script’s development.
