Nagoshi Studio was dissolved following a shareholder resolution on October 31. The notice was published on November 2 in Japan’s official government gazette, Kanpo, on page 176 of extra edition No.240.
The notice asks creditors to submit their claims within two months starting on the day after publication. It is signed by a representative liquidator.
NetEase Games announced Nagoshi Studio on January 24, 2022 as a wholly owned subsidiary based in Tokyo. Toshihiro Nagoshi, who previously led the Yakuza series, headed the team. The studio was set up to develop high-end console games for a global audience.
Its first project, Gang of Dragon, was revealed at The Game Awards in December 2025. The action-adventure is set in Tokyo’s Kabukicho district and stars Ma Dong-seok. Steam still lists Gang of Dragon as “Coming Soon” and offers the option to add it to a wishlist.
